Kyra Minturn

 Kyra Minturn (born August 19, 1965), is an American actress. She is best known for her role as Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson (TVN crime drama The Closer). Sedgwick received an award in 2007 for her portrayal of Johnson. Golden Globe Award in 2007 for her performance as Johnson as well as an Emmy Award 2010 for her portrayal. After the end of the seventh season, the show was canceled on August 13, 2012. Sedgwick's performance as Madeline Wuntch in the sitcom Brooklyn Nine-Nine is also notable. Sedgwick received nominations for a Golden Globe award for her performance in Something to Talk About (1995). Sedgwick's other film appearances include Oliver Stone's Born on the Fourth of July (1989), Cameron Crowe's Singles (1992), Heart and Souls (1993), Phenomenon (1996) and What's cooking (2000), Secondhand Lions (2003), The Game Plan (2007) and The Possession (2012). Sedgwick is the daughter of Patricia Rosenwald, an educator, family therapist, venture capitalist, as well as Henry Dwight Sedgwick VII Speech Therapist. Her mother, who was Jewish, was of English and Episcopalian heritage. Sedgwick declares that she is Jewish and has stated that she goes to Passover seders.
